Daisy is a 1978, original 4-berth Westfalia who began her life in sunny California. She lived there until 2011 when she was imported to the UK by us. The main reason we choose to buy her was because she was very solid and original and low mileage and buses like this don't come up for sale very often so they make great resto projects. As soon as she arrived we set about restoring her back to her former glory, along with a few modern updates because let's face it, it's great driving a classic VW camper but if it can have some modern features like power steering and servo assisted brakes, then why wouldn't you?

 

She has a full camping interior, 2 ring gas burner, fridge, sink, rock and roll bed and can sleep 4 adults. She has rear 3 point seat belts, a original captains' seat that swivels around which really opens up the interior to make it feel bigger, new upholstery high density foam, the best quality roof canvas, inner roof lining, iPod stereo and speakers, new door cards and a 2kw Webasto petrol heater for those cold winter (or British summer!) nights. Everything on the interior was either restored to a very high standard or replaced with a new upgrade.

 

Power steering suppiled by Lite Steer and fitted by us, a new 2000cc engine, carburetor's, exhaust system, a restored fuel tank and gearbox and bushes, a complete new braking system, new wheels and Michelin tyres, restored wiring loom, every aspect of the mechanics was restored to the highest possible standard.

Everything on this bus has either been restored or replaced. The under carriage was sand blasted and painted in por 15 underseal paint, the body was restored inside and out and the paint is in original VW colours and is perfect due to just being repainted again this year, so as you can imagine it looks amazing – we restore buses to last, not just to sell them.

Daisy was sold 5 years ago to a French couple who loved and looked after her, she has been fully serviced by us every year since and she drives and looks amazing. She'll also have a fresh UK MOT, 3 months parts and labour warranty and 6 months road tax and if you want to drive her in France she also comes with a 5 year French MOT test.
